North Korea launched a possible intercontinental ballistic missile today that exhibited the range to hit anywhere in the US, according to the Japanese Defense Ministry. The missile could have a flying range of over 9,320 miles, "meaning the whole of the US territory would be within range," Shingo Miyake, parliamentary vice-minister of defense, told reporters at a news conference in Tokyo. The test missile flew for about 73 minutes before falling into the sea west of the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. It shows a maturing North Korean missile program, defense experts say.

Nice News - At Newburgh Free Academy, a high school in New York’s Hudson Valley, the students are required to put their phones away for the entirety of the school day — and they welcome it. One teen, Monique May, said her phone is to blame for her mental health struggles during the COVID-19 pandemic, when screen time among adolescents rose sharply. She cited cyberbullying and feelings of isolation and depression among the downsides. Just being me.” Assistant principal Ebony Clark also mentioned online bullying as a key reason for banning phones. “All I’m doing is giving them the opportunity to engage in school and leave the drama outside these doors,” she said.

A major winter storm last December disrupted thousands of flights. Southwest canceled 16,900 flights, stranding more than 2 million passengers. Under the agreement, the Dallas-based airline is required to establish a $90 million compensation system for future passengers affected by significant delays and cancellations.
