A former Florida lawmaker who penned the state's controversial "Don't Say Gay" law has been sentenced to prison for wire fraud, money laundering and making false statements in connection with obtaining $150,000 in COVID-19 relief loans.  Joseph Harding, 36, of Ocala, Florida, will serve four months in federal prison, according to a statement on Thursday from the U.S. attorney's office in the Northern District of Florida. After his release, Harding will have two years of supervised release.

The nonprofit One Warm Coat told USA Today its partner agencies across the country have reported that the current demand for winter coats in their areas is more than 50% greater than in the fall of 2020. “This is one very small way to take a step forward and do something very tangible,” CEO Beth Amodio said of donating. “It’s impossible to change the world. Just 48% of adults reported attending at least one arts event from July 2021 to July 2022, according to research released this week. The arts community is struggling to regain its pre-pandemic audience. But the survey found people are continuing to watch or listen to arts activities online.

In Rhode Island our tradition is to give away as many winter coats (1000's) as we can get donated on the day after Thanksgiving on the State House lawn
