Americans are following the news less closely than they used to

Pew Research - In 2016, 51% of U.S. adults said they follow the news all or most of the time, but that share fell to 38% in 2022. Attention to the news has declined across all age groups in recent years, but adults under 30 are particularly unlikely to say they closely follow the news – only 19% did so in 2022.
