The price of agism

Axios - One in four American workers is 55 or older. But age discrimination persists in offices, keeping many of those people out of jobs, Axios' Erica Pandey writes.Older workers face long periods of unemployment, stressful job hunts and mounting bill . . . The labor market, "though rosy overall, has deteriorated for older workers," says Julia Pollak, chief economist at ZipRecruiter. Workers over the age of 50 are unemployed for three times as long as their younger counterparts, according to an AARP analysis of federal data.
