Millions of Girls Are Doing Unpaid Care Work This Summer
The feds have tried to solve teacher shortages with loan forgiveness. It hasn’t worked. At least that’s the conclusion of a new study of a federal program that cancels a chunk of student loan debt for teachers in mid- to high-poverty schools. This effort doesn’t seem to help schools attract or keep teachers. The researchers blame low awareness levels and the program’s complexity.
