Please look more carefully at demographics. The fastest growing segment of the population are senior citizens. We have a below replacement birthrate at 1.64 live births per woman, for the US in 2020, replacement is 2.1 live births per woman. Old people are becoming an ever larger proportion of the population year after year. If you really want to reduce population without considering this fact, you end up with a "Logan's Run" scenario. I really don't want to go there, and I doubt you want to either.
