A Bloomberg Law database listing 224 criminal cases that were assigned to Cannon reviewed by The Times found that just four went to trial, all of which were largely routine cases, meaning the judge presiding over arguably one of the most important criminal cases in U.S. history is going into the trial with a total of 14 days experience trying criminal cases, the report said.
Christopher Kise, one of former President Trump's
lawyers, proposed last fall to try to arrange a settlement with the
Justice Department that would include the return of all documents, The Washington Post reports.Trump wasn't interested "after listening to other lawyers who urged a
more pugilistic approach, so Kise never approached prosecutors."

than 270 known contacts between Russia-linked operatives and members of
the Trump campaign and transition team, as well as at least 38 known
meetings just leading up to the 2016 election.
