Chalk Beat - In eight of the nation’s 12 largest districts, less than 10% of students received any kind of district tutoring this fall, according to a survey by Chalkbeat and the Associated Press. In Miami, Philadelphia, and Gwinnett County, Georgia, the figure was less than 1%. In some cases, that small size was intentional to focus on high-need students, but in other cases the startlingly low figures point to problems, like hiring challenges and a lack of awareness among families.
