US middle class shrinks

US News - In 1971, 61% of households were considered middle class. That number fell to 50% in 2021. Moreover, the percentage of Americans in the upper-income level increased from 14% to 21% in 2021. At the same time, the share of those in the lower income bracket rose from 25% to 29%.
