Republicans don't like what NFL is doing for black players

Newsweek - 45 percent of Republicans, or those who lean Republican, said the NFL was doing "too much" to "show respect for its black players." This compares to a 22 percent nationwide total that felt the same, and just five percent of Democrats said they felt that way.

I have been watching the developments around the firing of Brian Flores as the coach of the Miami Dolphins and the hiring of only white people for coaching vacancies. Flores lead a team with dysfunctional ownership to a winning record while mediocre whit coaches get many more chances. This is a league in which more than 70% of the players are Black. All of the owners are white. While the NFL requires black coaches be interviewed, of it is a mere formality. What the league needs is ownership by either the players or Black people. I think they need a new variant of the Rooney Rule. Every year the percentage of Black head coaches is less than the percentage of Black players in the league one white owned team, picked by lottery, must be transferred to either a Black person (consortium) or to a collective of its players. I think a lot of the white owners would get religion really fast when they realized that the old boys club could lead to the loss of their club.
