Rural America is losing its pharmacies

The link is missing, but I think I have the gist of what is happening here.

It's no surprise, with the rise of Rx programs as part of health insurance packages, rural small town pharmacies would be closed.

My Rx "benefit" requires me to buy my meds from their central distribution to get an OK price, or pay the uninsured prices at any of my local Pharmacies. Good RX doesn't offer quite as much discount as the Rx plan either, but it's better than no discount.

These Rx plans are designed to kill off local pharmacies, because members gets penalized for using local pharmacies. I live in a big city, so there will probably always be pharmacies around, but what if someone out of town needs a medicine right away? My Rx plan would have me wait a week or more for anything coming from them, my last refill took nearly a month to turn up. I have options because of my location, pay more and get it today, but for those already having healthcare struggles in underserved rural areas, they could literally die waiting for their medicine to show up in the mail eventually.

We don't have healthcare in this country, we have illness management with the goal of making all of us cash cows for the Big Pharma Cartel.
