Word: Kamala Harris defends alternative sex

 Hans Johnson -   At moment of truth, she made good & necessary trouble for #LGBT civil rights: It was 10 years ago today. I remember this instant in the underdog campaign for California Attorney General by Kamala Harris as if it were last night. A federal District Court judge had just dealt a blow to the vicious, antigay state constitutional amendment #Prop8. But in addition to approval by voters, the state Supreme Court had ratified it in a 6-1 ruling. It could still be the wrecking ball for marriage equality its authors devised it to be. Harris wasn’t having it. In the months that followed, with help of L.A. voters, she achieved a narrow win for state A.G. Then, with a masterful & heroic maneuver, she adroitly defused the bomb thrown into the ranks of our struggle for #LGBTQ freedom & equality. She forever earned a place of respect & prominence among the righteous allies of our cause. The rest is history.
