Note to Greens, Bernie backers and others on the left

Sam Smith

Elections are just a reflection of the progress you have already made rather than an actual tool of progress. Your job on election day is not to  prove your virtue but to help create the best possible battlefield for future efforts.

In the case of this year's election, not voting for Joe Biden could help elect America's first dictatorship. This would not be a moral action; but rather either stupid, narcissistic or a combination of both. The fact  that you support better programs than Biden shouldn't let you share responsibility for Trump's reelection.

Infinitely preferable is to elect Biden and then return to pressing your progressive agenda.

Biden needs to throw the progressives a big bone if he wants anything from them.

The Biden ‘meantime’ must be a capitalist meantime and is no responsibility of those who seek to replace it with a better system. The establishment of socialism depends on a majority of us withdrawing our support of capitalism. It becomes practicable only to the extent that socialist ideas are accepted, and it will become a reality when action in line with those ideas is taken. Supporting Biden or any leader amounts to trying to patch up capitalism, the existence of which is the cause of the problems we all want to solve.

It amazes me when I look back and hear myself saying that there could never be a worse president than Bush and truly believing it.
I would vote for the devil before Hillary.
But Biden blows my mind trying to understand how he is the best our country can come up with. There is almost a certainty Trump will not leave office easily. I think he will refuse claiming anything possible as a reason and take a long time because he has the money to have a team of lawyers muddy the entire system. It is easier to stay in control than to take control especially if they have a irregularity and that is easy given the amount of employees they have at their disposal.Chinese and soviet helpers as well.

Living in a deep blue state you could not pay me to vote for Biden, unless he backs medicare for all, and a UBI during this pandemic. Biden has promised to veto medicare for all, so he will not get my vote. I feel it's a better strategy in deep blue states, for those who know how bad Biden is should vote third party. The only way Biden will do anything for we the people is if he finds out he is losing blue states votes to third parties. Biden will screw us nearly or as bad as tRump if he isn't kept under constant pressure to do better for the US people.
