VIRUS STATS TUESDAY

in all major virus countries, the new case averages during the past week remain better than for the previous seven days. Although the US remains one third of the global cases, eight of the ten major virus-hit American states  improved as well. Both globally and in the US the number of new cases peaked in the second week of April. They are now down 19% for the US and 14% globally.


Globally, the average number of new cases the past seven days is 3% below the previous week. For America it is 4%.
  • Spain has the largest drop in new cases: 59%
  • The average number of new United Kingdom cases is up 18% compared to the previous week
  • Average number of new  cases in Italy this week is down 31% compared to the previous week
  • Average number of new  cases in Germany this week is down 37%  compared to the previous week
  • Average number of new cases in France this week is down 48% compared to the previous week. 
 Death rate of reported cases
  • The latest death rate of reported cases in all major virus countries has increased this week over past week's average.
USA at 5.8% or down 0.1% from the previous week's average
Global 7.1%  the same as the previous week's average
UK is worst at 15.1%
France is second at 14.7%
Italy is third at 13.6%
Germany is 4.1%
