Coronavirus update

Independent, UK - A team of scientists created a vaccine that may have been able to prevent the deadly coronavirus outbreak, but they were never able to get funding to commence clinical trials, experts told Congress ... Dr Peter Hotez, co-director of the Centre for Vaccine Development at Texas Children's Hospital, testified ...“We had the vaccine ready to go." The doctor told lawmakers about a vaccine his team developed to protect against a strain of coronavirus in 2016, but "by then nobody was interested in a coronavirus vaccine."

Are we sure that a vaccine will work or that it is the best way to deal with corvid-19? The article says it all "A team of scientists created a vaccine that *may have been able to prevent* the deadly coronavirus outbreak"

They don't even know if this will work at all. Vaccines have become so popular that people think this is always the way to go, but not every disease is suitable for vaccines and not all vaccines work as well as the researchers hope. Pinning hopes on a vaccine that may or may not work, or may or may not have a high level of negative reactions is foolish until extensive testing is done. Rushing a vaccine to market is risky and if they get it wrong how many people will have their health ruined by trying to do the "right" thing. Go ahead and research please, but be sure it's properly tested before rushing it to market.
