Sam Smith - 60
years ago this year, DC ran its last trolley streetcar to Glen Echo. I
covered the story for WWDC News and one reason I remember it is because
of two kids who said of my microphone: "What's that?" and "What do
you have this for?" Only about a dozen reporters in DC had portable tape
recorders back then and these young were probably among the last in
America not recognizing one.
