The issue is wider than just whether prostitution should be decriminalised or not. Some see selling sex as a form of work without realising that employment is prostitution. This is socialist the perspective as put forward by Marx in his Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts. He saw sex work as “only a specific expression of the general prostitution of the laborer.' The dehuminization of those involved will only end when the terms buyer and seller become redundant with the establishment of socialism.
