- You're not looking for the best Democratic candidate, but the best one who can beat Trump
- Elections are not about displaying your virtue; they are about
picking the best battlefield.
- Change comes from the bottom. National politicians are not activists, they are reactivists to what's happening in America

Not looking for someone who can beat Trump, but for Trump to accomplish what he set out to do. 17/Q
Elections are about voting for the candidate that meets your value expectations, let the chip fall where they may. Every moment you choose the future you want to be in, and compromising your values is a poor way to select that world.
The lesser of two evils is a mugs game. It can always be rigged by the one two-headed party. At least your state has ranked choice voting.
Litmus test: tax payer funded medicare for all, clean water, college 10-13 tuition, and all the rest - roads, fire departments, libraries etc.
I thank you for the opportunity to express an opposing view, however.
Cheers, Tom

What a wonderfully written comment. It was my first thought in response to what I read in Undernews, but my thoughts were undeveloped and unable to be expressed - more an 'uneasy feeling'. But... I get that a lot these days.
Unfortunately, My choices seem to be the lesser of evils. I'm not a scholar, but when I hear about England and Canada, where parties have to compromise to form a 'coalition' I wonder if we should have something like that here.
Either that, or strictly enforced laws preventing Businessmen, Religious Fundamentalists, etc from running for office. And make the individual Party vet these people.
Just a thought.
