Should Historic Homes Be Allowed To Add Visible Solar Panels?

If they want to ban visible solar from historic houses because it looks too modern, then they need to ban cars from parking in front of those houses and make sure the street only allows horses and buggies. Perhaps tear up the road in front and install cobbles. Where would it stop?

The sorry truth is a lot of historic houses already have been gutted inside with the floor plan opened up, and one could hardly tell the house is historic at all from within.

I have a friend who bought a National Registered historic house from the mid 18th century in New England, that is considered very well preserved both inside and out, and his house has solar panels.
