Meanwhile. . .

Almost half of Americans (48%) are worried that they or a family member will be a victim of a mass shooting, the highest reading of three conducted in the wake of a mass shooting.

Statistically speaking, you are eight times more likely to die an alcohol related death than a firearm induced one. Yet, where is the public outcry over removing alcohol from those who can not utilize it without killing someone in the process.

Let's say you could sprinkle fairie dust across the land that would pass through everything except firearms and ammunition. Let's say that when the magic powder comes in contact with a fire arm or ammunition it transports that item to the center of the sun. How long before the disgruntled, disenfranchised decide to rent a truck and ram it through a crowd?

Lest we forget, a radical commandeered a delivery truck back in June of 2016 and used it to kill 80 odd and injure another 450 on the streets of Nice France. A tool is a tool. In the hands of those that no longer have a human relationship with life, they cause death. There will be no solution to the tragedies until we start to deal with the disease, and not get obsessed with the symptom.

Parse gun deaths. 66% are suicides. Less than one tenth of one percent are "massive shootings". Give people a reason to live, and they will not become a terrorist. Continue to marginalise thier ability to live a minimal existence, and they will lash out with whatever tool is available.
