Nearly one quarter of Americans don't plan to retire

Washington Times -Nearly one-quarter of Americans say they never plan to retire, according to a poll that suggests a disconnection between individuals’ retirement plans and the realities of aging in the workforce. Experts say illness, injury, layoffs and caregiving responsibilities often force older workers to leave their jobs sooner than they’d like.

My spouse and I would love to retire in our late 60s, but with 40 years of stagnant wages and inflation, even with our savings, we expect to need to work for the rest of our lives, just to afford survival. Unless some things dramatically change in the next decade, or we die, we will need to be working.
