Sometimes in the late innings of a Washington baseball game, when that idjit Bob Carpenter is broadcasting his negative opinions of the Nationals chances,
I just have to turn off the sound and concentrate on the game itself, with no commentary.
Often, I can overcome the gratuitous negativity and see myself in the future where the Nationals are victorious.

Wouldn't it be refreshing to turn to the pages of TPR and see no more presidential polling data, just an announcement of what our collective consciousness did for president, the day after the election, in a year and five months from now!

I mean to say, that's a long time. Reading dribs and drabs of the eddies and currents until then is just such a distraction. Maybe I'll take a plane or a submarine to that date and let the surface be what it will be.

And as to whether what we are collectively seeing is good or bad, remember this Zen Story To Tell Your Neighbors, "Maybe":
There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit. "Such bad luck," they said sympathetically. "May be," the farmer replied.
The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. "How wonderful," the neighbors exclaimed. "May be," replied the old man.
The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune. "May be," answered the farmer.
The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out. "May be," said the farmer.

A modern version of this might be:
Donald Trump became president - this is terrible! Maybe.
Donald Trump insisted in forming the space force - crazy! Maybe.
The Space Force allowed the revelation of all the hidden projects created and reverse engineered from the Roswell crash (including the modern mechanical heart valve), showed us where our missing budget of $21 trillion has been going - good! Maybe.
And so on...

I guess in conclusion, let's focus on the big, bigger and biggest pictures...

Cheers, Tom
