Legal lunacy update

Inc -Some days you've got to wonder whether legal departments of big corporations have run out of things to do. The latest example is another case of a goliath filing a trademark challenge against a company so small, it wouldn't even register as a fraction of the size.

You do get this sort of thing between large companies, but there is no way you could confuse the two locations of Cat & Cloud coffee in California with a large company. Or with heavy equipment maker Caterpillar. But that's the match-up.

Caterpillar with its logo that does appear on clothing, as well as on huge machinery, filed a petition for cancellation of trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The target was Cat & Cloud, which roasts and brews coffee.
