Batlimore Symphony goes on strike

Union City - Baltimore Symphony Orchestra musicians are walking the picket line after management locked them out on Monday. Adding insult to injury, the musicians learned about the lockout from social media, not their employer. BSO management says they’re broke, but the musicians have agreed to millions in givebacks over the years and say the orchestra is a victim of chronic mismanagement. “The bottom line is that they’re trying to break the union, plain and simple,” IATSE 22 president Chuck Clay told delegates at Monday night’s Metro Washington Council meeting.
