Nearly three quarters of a million voters removed from Wisconsin rolls

Center for Media  & Democracy -A review of the latest voter registration tallies by Center for Media and Democracy  finds that almost 700,000 Wisconsin voters have been removed from the voter rolls since the end of December 2016, and that significantly more voters were purged from the rolls in Democratic leaning counties than Republican leaning counties.

The high number of purged voters could create major headaches on November 6, especially if turnout is as heavy as expected.

Wisconsin has participated in the Electronic Registration Information Center’s list maintenance program since 2016, which involves sending postcards to voters who are suspected of moving. If the voters don’t respond, they are removed from the rolls. Ninety percent of voters do not respond, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they have actually moved.

Where is this mythical country that has a democracy with freedom and justice for all? It certainly is not the USA! Truth be told, the USA was never a democracy. From it origin, initially, only White male propery owners could vote. It took White women 132 years to get the right to vote, and Black people could vote here and there, but it was not until 1965 , 277 years afer the ratification of the US Constitutuion that they were allowed to vote. Now, a State like Wisconsin can disenfrachise 700,000 voters. They are not alone. Most of these so called Red States do not want a democracy. What democracy? The media must tell the truth and stop painting a rosy picture where it doesn't exist. Democracy is a hype there to fool the weak people. JW

Anonymous has a typo. 1965 was 176 years after the constitution wa ratified. But the overall picture, that the rich do not like democracy, is on deisplay every day, especially when it comes to the people decideing that they do not want corporate behemoths in their neighborhoods polluting and destroying everything, and the ruling elite teling us that we should not have a voice int he matter.
