The world would be a much better place if those who want to repress inoffensive behaviors in the name of religion were to be taken into locked-ward care as being psychotic. Most of them are psychopathic rather than psychotic, and keeping them locked up would be a net win for everyone else.
The same is true of those who claim that their predatory behavior is approved by God. They should be required to demonstrate the approval, and to remain in mental-health custody until they do. None would ever qualify for release, and the world would be better off for it.
