WNYC - Though the U.S. wants to get tough on Syria, in the month-long period between May 23rd and June 23rd, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights
found that U.S.-led coalition airstrikes caused 472 civilian deaths in Syria. That's more than double the organization's previous 30 day toll. A U.N. war crimes investigator said that the U.S.-backed campaign to reclaim Raqqa has produced a "
staggering loss of civilian life."
