Trump calls for fascist style police profiling and roundups

Washington Post - Donald Trump said that authorities might have to engage in racial profiling to more effectively fight the threat of terrorist attacks in the United States.

"Our local police, they know who a lot of these people are. They are afraid to do anything about it because they don't want to be accused of, uh, profiling. And they don't want to be accused of all sorts of things," Trump said in an interview on Fox News.

The Republican presidential nominee went on to praise Israel's policing practices. Israeli security forces routinely conduct general roundups for questioning or during specific investigations.

It's not the first time Trump has made a suggestion that racial profiling could be an effective tactic.

"But look, we have — whether it's racial profiling or politically correct, we'd better get smart," he said at a Fox News town hall in August. "We are letting tens of thousands of people into our country. We don't know what the hell we're doing."

Because of our horribly lax immigration policies and the active importation of hundreds of thousands of unvetted from countries with terrorist ties, stop and frisk is going to have to be brought back in some cities.

Despite being a violation of constitutional rights, the simple fact is that we are in a state of war - due largely to our government's reckless and destructive foreign policies.

I say this reluctantly as a constitutionalist. We are going to have to live with this - at least for the foreseeable future, until we can get a better handle on the people here in this country that have terrorist ties or sympathies.

The 1994 Crime Bill that ended up exploding our prison populations was a Clinton idea.
For everything you bring up about Trump, there's at least an equal, and often more extreme, counterpart attributable to Clintons---so what the give gives, Sam?
There is no choice from within the duopoly, for all of the fear-mongering the end results from either will hardly be distinguishable.
To continue to pretend otherwise is utter foolishness and madness. At some point we need to stop going along and allowing it happen. We need to stop endorsing this with our usual votes.
