Although in popular vote, Clinton and Trump are statistically tied, Clinton has an dramatic lead in electoral calculation - based on recent poll averages, currently safely leading with 262 of the needed 270 votes. Further, the Democrats could pick up over 40 more electoral votes. Only 98 electoral votes are definitely in the Trump column.
The Senate, however, is not such a clear picture. As things now stand, the Democrats and GOP each stand to gain one seat and the Dems could win another three. If they did, they would have to rely on a Demcoratic vice presiden to have a clear majority.
