The collapse of public education

Tulsa World -Tulsa Public Schools is considering shortening the school week to four days and eliminating transportation for everyone except special education students as possible scenarios to deal with anticipated budget cuts next year.

Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Deborah Gist sent employees an email Wednesday evening laying out these and other options as possible cuts to the district’s budget next year.

We did not like Deborah Gist when she was in charge of school departments in Rhode island. Though this disaster may not be of her own making. No one in Oklahoma wants to pay for schoosl anymore. Schools mean the kids might learn about evolurtion or climate change.
