To be meaningful, profits would have to be adjusted for inflation and plotted on a logarithmic scale. This chart is meaningless.
David may be right but average wage data plotted over, or should I say Under the profit line, could reveal another story.
Both the axes have linear progressions. Why would there need to be a logarithmic scale? The data doesn't jump by orders of magnitude.
