Ryan's real family problem

Sam Smith - Paul Ryan claims to be concerned about the effect of becoming House Speaker would have on his family. But neither Ryan nor the media seem interested in the effect it will have on all the other families in America given his position on key domestic issues. From a 2011 story:

On discretionary spending, Ryan’s plan ... proposes major cuts to domestic programs totaling $1.6 trillion over the next decade - holding growth in education, transportation, justice, food safety and other programs well below the rate of inflation.
