1830 -- William Huskisson, a popular member of the British Parliament, becomes the first person to be run over by a railroad train.

1845 -- Female cotton workers strike for the 10-hour day.

1970 -- US: Beloved & Respected Comrade Leader Tricky Dick Nixon orders the CIA to prevent the inauguration of Salvador Allende, the democratically elected president of Chile (they fail). The Trickster authorizes $250,000 to bribe Chilean congressmen. The CIA is instrumental in Allende's murder.
