Iceland Magazine - The Reykjanes District Court has sentenced
Sigurður Ingi Þórðarson, better known as “Siggi the hacker” to three
years in prison for having sexually violated nine young men in over
seventy separate incidences in the years 2011-2013, the local news site visir.is
reports. Sigurður is to pay his victims 8.6 million ISK (67,000
USD in restitution. His victims were all teenagers when the
crimes took place.
Sigurður worked with Julian Assange on the Wikileaks project as a
volunteer, moving to the inner circle of the group, before falling out
with Assange who accused him of having embezzled funds from the group.
It was later revealed that Siggi “the hacker” had also worked as a paid
informant to the FBI, handing over internal WikiLeaks documents and
emails. Julian Assange was allowed to testify by telephone to the
Reykjanes district court the embezzlement case against Sigurður.
