The seldom mentioned factor in American violence

A study found that that about 90 percent of the top-grossing movies over a 25-year period contained at least one violent main character. What's more, there was no difference between PG-13 and R movies in how often violent characters participated in those other behaviors.

Media Education Foundation - By the time the average child is eighteen years old, they will have witnessed 200,000 acts of violence and 16,000 murders.

Most of the top-selling video games (89%) contained violent content, almost half of which was of a serious nature.

The level of violence during Saturday morning cartoons is higher than the level of violence during prime time. There are 3-5 violent acts per hour in prime time, versus 20-25 acts per hour on Saturday morning.

Nearly 75 percent of violent scenes on television feature no immediate punishment for or condemnation of violence.

Anonymous said...: I suspect the many if not most shootings, school shootings etc are done by people on medications, known side effects to cause bad behavior. In addition consider the army of drugged up kids in schools going into society... The well known connection between AAD and vaccines and of course ADD demands the need for meds to make the kid sit still in school. Then the kid is depressed because of ADD and other meds needed to make them sit still, so the need of anti depressant meds. So it is a numbers game hundreds of millions of kids screwed up, a few actually go nuts and start shooting. The evil gun is said the cause and needs restricted. Everyone on TV news acts surprised, what a show.

I bet the numbers of kids and adults who do the shootings are really high with ADD mental problems and taking side effecting meds. At least 50%, I bet higher. IT is well known that a possible side effect for anti depression meds is violent actions. It is a numbers game, that is all. Take the percentages of those many hundreds of thousands people on meds and the result is obvious.

The TV news is a show....
