"At war" could use a precise definition. The US frequently "forgets" to officially announce wars. For instance, when Washington actively participates in a coup of a democratically-elected leader, is that an act of war? If not, what is it?
I agree with Richard Kaiser, and would also ask, who would expect the Washington Post to give up the truth of U.S. military interventions? Sticking to officially declared wars might surprise some, but a list of all interventions would probably shock even those of us who think we're informed.
