Hill thrills

At a July 2014 biotech conference, [Hilllary Clinton] publicly endorsed GMOs saying “I stand in favor of using seeds and products that have a proven track record.” She attacked GMO critics adding “there is a big gap between what the facts are, and what the perceptions are.” ... As Secretary of State, her State Department heavily pressured other countries to use GMOs. Taxpayer money was used to promote them worldwide... Monsanto gave the Clinton Foundation from half a million to one million dollars – Ag giant Dow Chemical from one to five million dollars, according to Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation disclosures... She chose longtime Monsanto lobbyist Jerry Crawford to serve as advisor to her “Ready for Hillary” super PAC.

“As a shareholder and director of our company, I’m always proud of Walmart and what we do and the way we do it better than anybody else." - Walmart director Hillary Clinton, 1990

If Hilary really meant this, she would be promoting heirloom open pollinated varieties. Those are the only seeds that have a real proven track record. GMOs are unproven and have a very short track record, only being in production since 1996. A long track record would be, for example, heirlooms like eikorn wheat, cultivated since 8,650 bc, flint corn cultivated since 1000bc, Caville Blanc d' hiver apple from 1596, or even "mortgage lifter" tomato from the 19th century.

I recently read about a study done on GMOs where if the seed is saved and replanted over several generations the plant will start removing the GMO elements. This does give me some small hope that even if the GMO fiasco continues for a while, eventually nature will rid herself of these GMO insults.
