57% of Republicans want to abolish constutional religious freedom

Politicus USA - A Public Policy Polling national survey of Republican voters, found that an astonishing 57 percent of Republicans want to dismantle the Constitution, and establish Christianity as the official national religion. Only 30 percent oppose making Christianity the national religion. Although the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment clearly states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,” GOP voters want to cast aside that provision and impose Christianity as the official American religion.

They've already displayed an utter disregard for most everything else within the Constitution, the Second Amendment included, so why be surprised by these survey results?

The poll referenced in the article surveyed 316 Republican primary voters, which gives a margin of error of 5.5%. I think the results from one small survey of a subset of Republican voters shouldn't be used to characterize the whole group. It's not that I wouldn't be dismayed if, say, only 25% of the members of a political party wanted to establish a state religion, but I'd like to see more research.
