Gallup’s poll of the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. found that 6.2% of San Franciscans identify as LGBT, which is 2.6 percentage points higher than the national average. The other high-ranking cities in the Gallup survey included Portland, Ore., Austin, New Orleans, Seattle, Boston, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Denver and Hartford, Conn.
Temkin Experience Ratings asked 10,000 people to rank their experience with different brands based on whether they could get what they wanted, how easy it was to get what they wanted and how they felt after the transaction, the Daily News reports. Jet Blue came out ahead of the [airlines] with a 75% approval rating, trailed by Southwest (72%) and Delta (69%). This marks a big jump for Jet Blue, which was in the middle of the pack in last year’s poll. At the bottom with a pitiful 47% approval rating is Spirit Airlines,
According to a new French law, rooftops on new buildings in commercial zones across France must either be partially covered in plants or solar panels.The law was scaled back from initial proposals by environmental groups asking for green roofs to cover the entire rooftop surface of all new buildings. The compromise gave businesses a choice to install solar panels instead or to only cover part of the roof in foliage.
An analysis by the Center for Biological Diversity found that there have been more than 8,700 significant incidents with U.S. pipelines involving death, injury, and economic and environmental damage since 1986—more than 300 per year.
