An hour and a half ago, for the first time I can remember, an eagle (upper left) found refuge just 75 feet from my office window. It finally got bored and just moved off but not before I felt renewed gratitude that Ben Franklin had failed to make the turkey our national bird. - Sam

I don't know... turkeys taste much better.
Bald Eagle, eh, Sam?
The Bald Eagle, proof that the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act work. I have lived in Providence for 18 years, and the eagles grow more numerous through the years.
Switch the birds, eh? Serve 'em Turkey instead of Eagle... I guess we could stuff some old bread in it to make it look a little fatter. (Stan Freeberg got it right)
Add the banning of DDT.
