Pope Francis distancing Catholic church from the GOP

The Hill - Pope Francis is increasingly driving a wedge between conservatives and the Catholic Church. The magnetic pope has sparked new enthusiasm around the world for the church and has flexed his political muscles internationally, most recently by helping to engineer a new relationship between the United States and Cuba.  But Francis’s agenda, which also includes calls to address income inequality and limit climate change, is putting him at odds with Republicans, including GOP Catholics in the United States.

This is a long road back after the CIA aborted the JFK /Kruschev/ Castro thaw brokered by J23. The litmus test is getting NATO to abandon its ambitions of manifest destiny eastward against Russia.

Hope we can get Francis to adopt Simone Weil's "ethymological Catholicism"... truly universal and no longer Roman... He could help lead our way out of the morass of the nation-state sustained by usurous banking practices married to the war economy that nation-states provide a reason for. Jubilee and a return to basic God loving principles without the scourge of idiotic ideologically supported anti-humanitarian principles of governance. The Vatican should become the first free municipality of the Mediterranean biorregion... Citizens of the World, unite... you have only your chains to leave behind!! www.institutosimoneweil.net
