Pocket paradigms
If global dumbing is not halted, we may wake up one morning and find that no one
in this country knows how to make anything anymore. We may discover
our dearest friends and relatives in a catatonic state before
the TV and the device won't even be on. When we call for help
we may find that 911 has become an endless loop voice mail system
from which one can never disconnect. We may even, some day, elect
a hologram as president -- and we'll be too dumb to realize it. - Sam Smith

The hologram will be smarter and more capable than most congressmen
2014 was the year that consumer technology became too complex to sustain itself. I was double charged for buying a phone and after six months of calls with billing experts it turned out that the mega phone company had no way to adjust the bill except by a personal favor from the boss of the person who sold it to me. Much as a slave being freed by the will of his deceased slavemaster.
It's happened.
