EcoWatch -  Testing of English and Welsh rivers by volunteers from angling groups has revealed that 34 percent of freshwater sites tested breach the upper limit of phosphate levels. The anglers are using the data they collected to push for change in the treatment of rivers, but, according to environmental consultancy the Angling Trust, in collaboration with nonprofit Fish Legal, they have a monumental task ahead of them, reported The Guardian.

News Center Maine - An Iowa-based ice cream manufacturer has recalled nearly 18,000 three-gallon containers of ice cream and frozen yogurt due to the potential presence of plastic fragments in the products. Wells Enterprises, Inc., the maker of popular frozen dessert brands such as Blue Bunny and Halo Top, initiated the recall on April 25. On May 14, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration upgraded the recall to a Class II, which is the FDA's second-highest grade for product issues.
