NY Times - President Trump and Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada praised each other in the Oval Office during the first meeting between the two leaders
since Mr. Carney won a stunning election on an anti-Trump platform. Mr.
Trump struck a conciliatory tone, saying he had “a lot of respect” for
Mr. Carney, who praised the president for his “relentless focus on the
American worker.” But after Mr. Trump talked about his calls for Canada
to be the 51st state, Mr. Carney said “some places are not for sale.”
Mr. Trump did not concede: “Never say never.”
