More and more landlords are looking to get 50% of a renter's income just for rent, utilities not included. Which is one thing if the income is $500K p.a., but quite another if the renter is living on the social-security OAP.
what makes this even worse is that many places are targeting high end housing as an economic development strategy, which just leads to ever more displaced people.
