My one moment with Ali

Sam Smith - Back in 1961, I was visiting Hugh Haynie, cartoonist for the Louisville Courier Journal when the elevator door opened and this young black guy came out proto-rapping and working his fists in every direction to some friends' delight. "Who the hell is that?" I asked and Hugh explained it was a new fighter by the name of Cassius Clay.
