The limping leader

Hillary Clinton limped over the line in Kentucky . She narrowly secured the chance to declare victory—even though Bernie Sanders pushed her to a virtual tie and they are likely to split the state’s delegates evenly. With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Clinton was leading by 46.8 percent to Sanders’s 46.3 percent.Clinton spent the last two weeks crisscrossing the state in a bid to shore up an expected win and dent the prevailing sense that she is a weak front-runner who is only getting weaker.  Daily Beast

Sam Smith - In 2008, Clinton beat Obama in Kentucky by 35 points. Her near loss this time is not only stunning, it suggests that - whatever one's political views - her candidacy is in much deeper trouble than anyone wants to admit. In earlier times - before personalities became more important than parties - the pros would have told Clinton her time was up instead of continuing to act like more fanboys. And if they didn't want Sanders, they would have come up something new like a Biden-Warren ticket, which would probably do the best you could get this year.
