CNN is reporting
that the police officials have sent a letter to congressional leaders
detailing the transformation of the stately Capitol building into
something akin to a frat house during parties on Memorial Day and July
4. Coolers full of booze, marble hallways packed with drunken
revelers…
According to CNN, “while there have been
no arrests, there have been falls and injuries that were blamed on
excessive drinking, according to a congressional source who said there
was a near fall from a balcony that could have been catastrophic.”
The
police are suggesting limiting the soirees to lawmakers, their guests,
and staffers with offices in the Capitol, the network reports. Leaders
from both parties say they’re considering the suggestions.
