Vance Ohio home broken into

The Hill -   One person is in custody in the wake of an incident overnight at Vice President Vance’s Ohio home, according to the Secret Service.

“An adult male was taken into custody by the Cincinnati Police Department after being detained by U.S. Secret Service personnel for causing property damage, including breaking windows on the exterior of a personal residence associated with the Vice President,” the Secret Service said in a statement obtained by The Hill’s sister network NewsNation early Monday.

The agency said the person was detained shortly after midnight and the vice president and his family were not in Ohio at the time.

It also said that it is discussing charges with the Cincinnati Police Department and the local U.S. attorney’s office.

Two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press that the Secret Service heard a loud noise at the home around midnight and found a person who had broken a window with a hammer and was trying to get into the house.
