Heat warning

Newsweek -   Twelve states face "dangerously hot conditions," as a major heat wave hits large parts of the country this week, a Newsweek map shows.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple heat advisories for Sunday, covering parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and the territory of Puerto Rico.

"Dangerously hot conditions to be found in the Central Plains, Lower and Middle Mississippi Valley and Southeast," forecasters said in the NWS' most recent "public discussion."
